Why ‘En Avant’?

Why ‘En Avant’?

En Avant (Ah na-VAHN)
Forward. A direction for the execution of a step.
Used to indicate that a given step is performed moving forward.
En Avant means moving forward . .  And that’s what we want for our studio: to move our dancers forward. So we expanded our name in order to include both what we are – an Academy of Dance – and what we do – move dancers forward.

Our Core Values

Our Core Values

Wholesome

We promise that every element – from music to costuming, choreography to atmosphere – is appropriate for viewing by everyone

Community

We believe in the importance of community both inside and outside of the studio. We believe that we are ambassadors for the performing arts and strive to provide our dancers with opportunities to inspire others through their dancing

Health

We are committed to the physical, emotional, and mental wellness and development of our students. We strive to foster a healthy, sustainable relationship with dance

Creativity

We believe that creativity is what takes dance beyond the class. Creativity teaches dancers concepts such as artistic expression, problem solving, and collaboration, which develop skills they can apply to self-choreography, activities, sports, and careers

Education

We believe in the importance of dance education – teaching both the how and why of dance in positive and age-appropriate ways

Friendship

We know that the best friendships are formed through shared interests. By cultivating these friendships in class, dancers feel supported and encouraged, build trust in each other, and improve their social and emotional well-being

Growth

We believe in fostering personal growth for all. Dance is capable of teaching more than just technique; dancers experience growth in their social interactions, critical thinking, mental mindset, and brain-body connection
