Registration Terms and Conditions

Fees/Payments/Make-Up Classes

  • Annual $15 per dancer non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration for the year.
  • I agree to be responsible for tuition payment by the first class of the month. If my tuition is late (paid after the first class of the month), I agree to pay the $25 late fee that will be collected at the time of my late payment. **Please make checks payable to Academy of Dance. Write dancer’s name and tuition month in memo line.** ☐ I understand that I will be charged a $35 fee for all Non-Sufficient Fund checks.
  • I understand there are no refunds for missed classes; make-up classes may be scheduled in the same month the class was missed. **Full tuition will be collected when classes are missed**
  • Written notice is required by the 1st class of the month if I terminate a class or I will be held responsible for full tuition that month.
  • Class sessions are consecutive and each session is usually 4 weeks. **Class performances, pictures, etc. count as a formal class** ☐ Academy of Dance follows Burlington-Edison School District’s calendar for most breaks and weather closures. If closure occurs, we invite you to make-up the missed class in one that is closest to your dancer’s age and level.

Pick Up/Drop Off/Observation ☐ I am encouraged to quietly observe my dancer’s first two classes to ensure my dancer feels comfortable in the class and the class is a good fit for them. After these two classes, I will follow the pick-up, drop-off, and observation policies below. ☐ I am expected to come into the studio to pick-up and drop off my dancer in class on time. ☐ I will provide a written note or communicate verbally with staff and/or my dancer’s teacher(s) if my dancer will be going home with anyone other than the parent(s) listed above. ☐ Quiet observation is allowed only during the last class of each month. This will allow my dancer and the other dancers in the class to better focus on their teacher and their dancing. ☐ I understand that Academy of Dance cannot be held liable on or off premises for injuries, accidents, or personal loss of family, siblings, or friends that attend events or wait with parents during classes. ☐ I understand that in the case of court order parenting plans or other court orders, Academy of Dance cannot be responsible for handling visitation schedules or other mandated plans. **I will keep my other children with me during classes and events; they are not to wander or use the restroom alone** Belongings/Dress Code/Behavior ☐ Academy of Dance is not responsible for dancers’ personal property. AOD cannot be held responsible for loss of or damage to dancers’ costumes, accessories, shoes, clothes, electronics, or any other personal items. ☐ Dancers’ cell phones are not to be out or used during class sessions without permission. ☐ Dancers are expected to arrive on time and ready to dance, wearing their dancewear clothes (under street clothes is encouraged). The restroom may only be used as a changing room for dancers who are unable to accommodate this request. ☐ I understand that to protect my dancer’s privacy Academy of Dance staff are not responsible for assisting my dancer in dressing/undressing or using the restroom. ☐ I understand that Academy of Dance has a dress code and will ensure that my dancer follows the dress code. At a minimum, my dancer will keep their hair pulled back and out of their face and bring the required shoes for their class. ☐ I understand there are costs associated with the dress code and that, at a minimum, I must provide my dancer with the required shoes for their class(es). ☐ I am expected to act in a sportsmanlike manner and to encourage my dancer to do the same. If my dancer is continuously disruptive or refuses to follow directions given by Academy of Dance staff, they may be asked to discontinue class(es) with no reimbursement. Performances/Demonstrations/Pictures/Rehearsals ☐ I understand that any performances, pictures, and rehearsals may have a cost associated with them. These costs are determined based on overhead fees (such as facility rental costs), staffing needs, and other related expenses. ☐ I understand that my dancer must participate in all events their class is a part of. If my dancer is unable to participate in specific events, such as Spring Recital, I must notify their instructor and the AOD Director. ☐ All tuition must be up to date in order to pick up my dancer’s Spring Recital costume. Costumes are special ordered, are non-refundable, and take several months to receive. ☐ If I order a costume and at a later date am unable to attend recital, it is my responsibility to pick up paid-for costumes prior to Spring Recital. If costume(s) are not picked up by this date, they may no longer be available to pick up and cost is forfeited. I acknowledge that I have read and agree to ALL Academy of Dance policies and procedures. I acknowledge that by allowing my dancer to dance I am agreeing to follow and observe all policies and procedures, including but not limited to Liability, Fees/Payments/Make-Up Classes, Pick Up/Drop Off/Observation, Belongings/Dress Code/Behavior, and Performances/Demonstrations/Pictures/Rehearsals.
